What do you like most about being a member of Station 83?
I like giving back to my community. The members of Station 83 are always there for their community. Whether it is a call for service, community event, a tour of the station or Fire Prevention class, our members are there.
What would you like to say to someone considering joining Station 83?
Come out and see what we are about. We have many different roles that we play and it is not all fire fighting. You do not need experience as we will train you. You will not believe the sense of satisfaction you get for being there helping someone in their time of need. I have been a volunteer for 29 years and I enjoy it as much today as when I started.
What do you do outside of the firehouse?
I am a dad of 6 kids, three of which are also members, Hayley (Jr) and Emily (Cadet) and Natalie (cadet) and then Ashley, Doug Jr and Noah. They all keep me going with sports and activities. I enjoy time at the beach, camping and family time.
